Speculation and Vacancy Tax Deadline - March 31

This is just a friendly reminder that the deadline to declare for the Speculation and Vacancy Tax is March 31.

All residential property owners in the designated taxable regions in BC, including Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam, must complete an annual declaration for the speculation and vacancy tax.

If you haven’t submitted a declaration for the speculation and vacancy tax before, your first step is to learn how to submit a declaration. If you have declared before, you have to declare again this year, even if there is no change to your information.

All residential property owners with property in one of the designated taxable regions in BC, including Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam, must complete their annual declaration by March 31. When a property has more than one owner, each owner has to make a separate declaration, even if the other owner is your spouse or relative.

The fastest and easiest way to declare is online. If you can’t declare online, you can declare over the phone. Call 1-833-554-2323 and an agent for the Speculation and Vacancy Tax can help you complete the declaration.
